Creative Brief
Celebrating 75 Years of Community, Pride & Basketball
As Maccabi Basketball Victoria prepares to celebrate 75 years of Jewish sport and community in 2026, we invite creatives of all ages to design a new official playing uniform that reflects our proud heritage and vibrant future.
This competition is your opportunity to shape the look of Maccabi Basketball Victoria teams as we enter the next chapter of our journey – on and off the court.
Theme
The design should reflect the spirit of Maccabi – a sense of community, resilience, pride, and sporting excellence. We encourage designs that represent our connection to Jewish identity, the Maccabi movement, and the inclusive, team-driven culture that defines our clubs.
Your design should strike a balance between tradition and innovation – bold, modern, and wearable, while honouring the history and identity of Maccabi Basketball Victoria.

Design Requirements
Your design must include the following:
-
Primary Colour: Blue
Choose navy, light blue, or royal blue as your dominant colour. -
Accent Colour: an additional colour to blue may be chosen as accent colour and to compliment the Reversible clash side of the singlet
-
A Magen David
This should appear prominently but can be creatively integrated into the design. -
The Maccabi Basketball logo
(Provided in the asset pack) and to be included on the singlet and the shorts -
The word “Maccabi”
Clearly featured on the front of the singlet – placement is up to you. -
Space for two sponsor logos
See the attached files for logo references. Leave suitable space on the back of the singlet.
Design Considerations
-
Your submission must include a front and back singlet design (this can be a single design repeated in different colour ways or completely different designs), as well as shorts.
-
You may also customise in colour the areas such as the sleeves, sides, and neckline - the style of top will not be altered just the colour/pattern
-
Keep in mind that sponsor logos and player numbers will be added after your artwork is finalised – leave appropriate space without crowding key design elements - please see template for placement
Inspiration
Draw inspiration from:
-
Maccabi’s 75-year history in Victoria
-
The Jewish community’s values of unity, strength, and perseverance
-
The energy and movement of basketball
-
The powerful symbolism of the Magen David
-
Designs that are modern, clean, and wearable for all ages and divisions
Who Can Enter?
This competition is open to the entire Maccabi community – players, coaches, designers, families, and fans of all ages. You don’t need to be a professional designer – just bring your passion, creativity, and love for the game.
